  • Cost is $125.00 per team if registered before the Early Bird deadline on Friday, January 3 (discount will be applied at check-out). After January 10, cost per team is $150.00 until deadline on January 15. Register online below or print and mail Registration Form. Checks payable to Newport Parks & Recreation. Proceeds benefit Gardner Park Ice Rink upgrades.


  • Participants must be 16 years or older and sign liability waiver before playing. Waivers must be turned in before first game. Helmets are required. Participants are responsible for their own personal safety equipment.


  • Rosters can include up to 6 players, men or women. In the case of absence or injury, players may be added to a team’s roster provided that they have not played for another team. All players must sign waiver before stepping on ice.


  • Tournament is played in a 3v3 format with no goalies. Games consist of two 12-minute halves of running time, and one 5-minute half-time. No time-outs. In the event of a tie, one 5-minute sudden death over-time will determine the winner. If there is still no victor, a winner will be decided by coin toss. This is a double elimination tournament with a three-game guarantee.


  • Tournament begins at 9AM on Saturday. All scheduled games will begin on time to ensure punctuality of the over-all tournament. Players or teams that arrive late to the start of the game will forfeit or be forced to play short-handed until more teammates arrive.


  • Each team must declare one team captain to be responsible for relaying schedule and other information.


  • Volunteers will be appointed to keep time, facilitate the rules and remind players of fair play and sportsmanship. Poor sportsmanship, fighting, excessive drinking and disrespect to facilities will result in immediate suspension from the tournament. Teams with suspended players will not be able to add additional players to their roster as mentioned above for injuries/absences.
