Summer Recreation Program

TO REGISTER: If your family hasn't registered with us before, you'll first need to create a household account here. Space is limited for all programs and sign-ups are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis with priority given to households registering two or more children. Registrations received after the Friday, June 12 deadline are subject to a $50 late fee. Due to the popularity of these programs, we are unable to "hold" spaces by phone, Facebook or email.

PAYMENT: Payment is required in full at time of registration unless a payment plan has been arranged in advance, before May 29. Card transactions include a 3% convenience fee from the processing company applied at check-out.

Cash or check payments can be submitted using the drop box next to the Police Department dispatch window in the entryway of the Newport Municipal building. Checks can be made payable to Newport Parks & Recreation.

PAYMENT PLANS: Request for payment plans must be submitted by Friday, May 29. After May 29, payment plans are not available and programs must be paid in full at time of registration. To request a payment plan, email JBooth@NewportRecreation.org or call (802)334-6345.

A NOTE TO PARENTS: We make every effort to give your child a fantastic camp experience. Parents can help by letting us know about specific behavioral, health-related or emotional needs your child may have. If your child takes medication or has special arrangements at school, please speak with us prior to registration.

ENROLLMENT CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Any changes to enrollment must be submitted at least one week prior to the program start date to be eligible for 50% refund. In many cases, a 100% refund can be issued in the event that the spot is filled by another participant. Campers removed from any program due to disciplinary issues are not eligible for a refund or credit.

AFTER REGISTRATION: Once you've completed online registration, you'll receive an email receipt. Please expect a confirmation email by June 10th with additional details about the programs your child will be attending this summer.



A NOTE ABOUT COVID-19


On Friday June 8th, Vermont Governor Phil Scott made the announcement that summer camp programs are permitted to run this year if they can successfully comply with CDC guidelines. While many summer camp programs across the state are choosing not to operate this summer, we feel that this service is a vital contribution to our community’s workforce. We have come up with strategies that will allow us to operate our program, but please be ready to adjust your expectation of what camp looks like. Below is a tentative schedule for field trips, theme weeks and special camp days, but pre-planning is extremely difficult at this time and many things are not confirmed. Please do not enroll solely based on the tentative activity schedule, as things are subject to change. Enrollment rates will not be pro-rated for changes in programming, instead funds will applied toward the cost of alternative on-campus activities and supplies/equipment to keep summer camp fun and engaging.

It’s also important to know that we will be taking precautions as required by the guidelines set forth by the Vermont Department of Health, Agency of Education and Department for Children & Families to protect against COVID-19. These steps will be outlined in a waiver during check-out.

  • Full Summer Enrollment: $1,190
  • Half Summer Enrollment (6/22-7/17): $650
  • Half Summer Enrollment (7/20-8/14): $650
