Have fun at the youth tennis clinics at Prouty Beach! 30 minute lessons for 5-6 year olds/ 45 minute lessons for older kids. These lessons will introduce strokes, simplified scoring and game fundamentals to encourage a successful experience for young children. Players can bring their own equipment or borrow ours.
Our instructor, Chris Hulse, is a USTA certified tennis instructor. Each session is based on USTA tennis skill progressions and is presented applying the very effective and fun USTA Net Generation curriculum.
Participants will interact with each other in cooperative tennis activities that build tennis and social skills. Tennis skill levels will be matched so the activities are challenging and fun for everyone. The goal is to play tennis, make friends and enjoy this sport forever.
All skill levels are welcome.

TO REGISTER: If your family hasn't registered with us before, you'll first need to create a household account here. Space is limited for all programs and sign-ups are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
PAYMENT: Card transactions include a 3% convenience fee from the processing company applied at check-out.
Following online registration, cash or check payments can be submitted in person or by mail at our office. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM. After hours, registrations may be submitted using the drop box next to the Newport Police Department dispatch window. Checks payable to Newport Parks & Recreation.
ENROLLMENT CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: Any changes to enrollment must be submitted at least one week prior to the program start date to be eligible for 50% refund. In many cases, a 100% refund can be issued in the event that the spot is filled by another participant. Children removed from any program due to disciplinary issues are not eligible for a refund or credit.
AFTER REGISTRATION: Once you've completed online registration, you'll receive an email receipt. We'll send a reminder email two weeks before the start of the program with details on what to bring and what to expect.
