Let's transform Newport into a City of Lights this holiday season! You have two exciting ways to join in: decorate your household to spread holiday cheer, or showcase your business's creativity in Gardner Park's "Santa's Village."
**Household Entries:**
Participate in the NEK's Great Light UP Newport Contest by decorating your home and sharing your festive spirit with the community, all residents in the greater Newport area are welcome to enter. Santa's elves will judge the displays and feature them on Facebook (with your permission). Winners will be announced the week before Christmas on the Newport Parks and Rec Facebook page and in the Newport Daily Express. All entries must be completed by the Saturday after Thanksgiving and displayed through the holidays. Prizes include Downtown Dollars: $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place. Entry is FREE and you must register by October 31st.
**Business Entries:**
Businesses, take advantage of this unique opportunity to shine in Gardner Park with a 20x20 display area themed around Santa’s Village. Your creativity will be judged by Santa’s elves, and the winning business will receive free advertising space in the Newport Daily Express. This is your chance to attract attention, showcase your brand, and connect with the community during the festive season.
